About
Hello. My name is Hannah and I’m a qualified Reflexologist based in Staplehay, Taunton, offering a calm, restorative space through my practice, Emoli Reflexology. With a genuine passion for helping people feel lighter, more balanced, and more grounded, I focus on creating treatments tailored to each person’s needs — whether you’re looking for relief from stress, support with well being concerns, or simply a moment of deep relaxation in a busy week.
Reflexology started thousands of years ago where the theory was that the bodies energy runs through lines in the body called meridians. They start and end at the tips of fingers and toes. The feet and hands are basically mini maps of the body.
A Reflexologist with the letters AOR after their name means they have full membership status of the Association of Reflexologists. This means they have met the strictest standards for professional excellence in reflexology practice, as well as being committed to continually developing their skills and knowledge.
What Is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a gentle, holistic therapy that works on the feet and hands using specific techniques to support well being. Many people find it deeply calming, and it is widely recognised for helping to ease tension, reduce stress, and encourage a sense of overall relaxation. During a treatment, the aim is to create space for the body and mind to unwind, releasing the physical and emotional strain that day-to-day life can build up.
Reflexology is suitable for all men, women and children of all ages. There are some medical conditions where it may not be possible to carry out a treatment, so a full consultation is carried out on the first treatment.
Reflexology is based on the idea that the feet and hands reflect the body as a whole, with different areas corresponding to organs, systems, and energy pathways. When these pathways become disrupted through stress, illness, or emotional strain, the body can feel out of balance. By applying gentle pressure to specific reflex points, blockages can be eased, allowing energy to flow more freely and helping the body to re-balance.
Treatments can complement existing health conditions, support relaxation, and encourage the body’s own ability to re-balance. Over time, working on these reflex points may promote a greater sense of harmony, improved well being, and a feeling of being more grounded and centered. Reflexology is a soothing, nurturing experience that offers a peaceful moment just for you.
Reflexology is used to stimulate your reflexes, help circulation and help your mind and body, not a substitute to seek medical advice.
Treatments
A reflexology treatment lasts for approximately one hour. All you need to do is relax and remove your shoes and socks. Your feet will be cleansed at the start of the treatment, then a variety of relaxation and reflexology techniques will be used.
The full effects of reflexology build up over time so a course of at least 4-6 treatments is strongly advised.

Aftercare
After a session, it’s normal to notice a variety of responses from your body. You may feel more tired than usual, notice certain symptoms becoming temporarily stronger, or find you need to use the toilet more frequently. These reactions are generally positive indicators that your body is responding to the treatment and beginning to restore its natural balance.
Over the next 24–48 hours, it’s helpful to:
Drink plenty of water to support the body’s natural cleansing processes
Rest and allow yourself time to relax and promote self healing in your body
Avoid stimulants such as tea, coffee, and alcohol
Eat light, nutritious meals and avoid heavy foods
It can also be useful to make a note of any changes or reactions you experience, as this can guide future sessions. I am always available to discuss any concerns or questions you may have following your treatment.
Some people may experience what is called a “healing response” or “healing crisis,” which can occur immediately after the session, within a few days, or occasionally even weeks later. This is a temporary reaction that reflects your body working to eliminate toxins and re-balance itself. Common responses may include:
Feeling tired or fatigued
Dizziness or light-headedness
Mild aches in muscles or joints
Muscle cramps
Skin changes or eruptions
Emotional release, such as feeling more emotional than usual
Increased sweating, urination, or bowel movements
Mild nausea
These reactions are typically short-lived. If any symptoms persist beyond 24–48 hours or are severe, it’s important to seek medical advice.
Please note: Reflexology is a supportive therapy that encourages relaxation and wellbeing. I do not diagnose, prescribe, or claim to cure medical conditions. Each person responds differently, and treatments are tailored to your individual needs. Reflexology often works best over a series of sessions, gradually supporting your body’s natural balance and overall wellbeing.
Benefits

Deep Relaxation and Stress Relief
Reflexology offers a moment of calm in a busy world. By gently working on specific reflex points, it encourages your body and mind to unwind, helping to release tension, quiet anxious thoughts, and restore a sense of balance. Many clients find that just one session leaves them feeling lighter, calmer, and more centred.

Supports Overall Wellbeing
Reflexology works in harmony with your body, supporting its natural ability to maintain balance and harmony. Regular sessions can help improve circulation, boost energy, and encourage the smooth functioning of your body’s systems. It’s a gentle, nurturing way to care for yourself, leaving you feeling replenished and cared for.

Promotes Gentle Relief from Common Ailments
Whether it’s a headache, digestive tension, fatigue, or general discomfort, reflexology can encourage your body to work more efficiently and ease common complaints. While it is not a cure, it offers a soothing, supportive approach that can help you feel more comfortable, energised, and in tune with your own wellbeing.

Improves Sleep
Reflexology activates the parasympathetic nervous system, lowering cortisol levels, easing muscle tension, slowing heart rate, and regulating breathing, all of which prepare the body for restful sleep.

Improved Circulation
By applying pressure to reflex points, reflexology can enhance blood flow, which delivers oxygen and nutrients to immune cells, and lymphatic circulation, which helps transport waste and detect pathogens more efficiently. Improved circulation and lymph flow may contribute to a faster and more effective immune response. Stress reduction is another key mechanism. Chronic stress suppresses immune function by elevating cortisol and other stress hormones. Reflexology promotes relaxation and shifts the body into a parasympathetic state, helping normalize immune processes and supporting overall endocrine balance.
